- Configure UpdraftPlus weekly schedule and run Backup Now
- Change admin password and enable 2FA (Wordfence Login Security)
Phase 2 — Hands-on labs
- Create page Gutenberg Lab (columns, cover block, button)
- Create page Elementor Lab and compare page load vs Gutenberg (DevTools → Network)
- Explore Appearance → Editor (Site Editor / block theme)
- Add Difficulty terms: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
- Add 2+ sample Courses and confirm archive at
/courses/ - Upload and activate Learning Card Child theme
Phase 3 — Local dev & SEO
- Install Local WP and clone site (migration plugin)
- Test a change on local only (never experiment on live first)
- Submit sitemap to Google Search Console
- Run PageSpeed Insights baseline on homepage (record score)
- Practice backup restore on local copy
